With Masters week putting golf firmly on everyone’s radar, it felt like the perfect moment to start talking about the great courses we’re lucky enough to have right on our doorstep in Quinta do Lago.
In this edition of The Hamberts’ Course Brief, we take a quick look at two of the Algarve’s most celebrated layouts: the North Course and the South Course.
The South Course is often seen as Quinta do Lago’s flagship. It has hosted the Portuguese Open several times and offers a classic championship feel, with generous fairways, strategic water hazards and beautiful views across the lakes and towards the Ria Formosa. It’s a course that rewards confident driving but still demands precision around the greens.
The North Course, redesigned in 2014 by Beau Welling alongside Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley, offers a slightly different style of golf. With immaculate conditioning and a design that rewards smart positioning, it’s a course where strategy often matters more than power.
Together, they perfectly showcase the golfing lifestyle that makes Quinta do Lago such a special place to live and visit.
